The Location

The Machhapuchchhare Yak Ranch is located approximately 18 km from the Pokhara Airport. Situated on a hillside facing Machhapuchchhare Mountain, also called Fish Tale, and has some extaordinary views of the Annapurna mountain range. The closest village is Haripau 1 km away, a typical Nepali village with about 800 friendly inhabitants.

Pokhara is set in the very heart of the Himalayas right next to a Fewa Lake. Pokhara boasts the perfection of the tropics without the heat and the magnificence of the mountains without the blizzards. Beautiful is an understatement here! The Pokhara valley is filled with lush vegetation, swift flowing rivers and is dotted with clear shimmering lakes. Pokhara is blessed with one of the most dramatic views in the world: a 140 Km panoramic view of the towering Himalaya ranges on a clear day.

Pokhara is also a melting pot of various ethnic groups. It is a place for anyone, from anywhere, to visit, to explore, to volunteer or even to live in!
